Holding on to Stress

Stress. Yeah, life is stressful. It’s our work, daily obligations, family, even traffic, plus whatever else it is we have going on in our day that all take a toll on us and sometimes we don’t even realize it. Our bodies are amazing entities, really. They know what’s wrong with us long before we do. Have you ever noticed how your body holds on to stress?  It’s many other places than just our minds.

Today is September 10th, by the time I post this it won’t be your birthday anymore, but as I sat down to write I couldn’t keep my mind from going back to you. You would have been 20 years old tomorrow, I can only imagine the man you would be becoming.

An Anxious Mind

By reading the title of this you probably know whether it applies to you or not. I have been reading a lot the past few weeks (mostly blog posts but books too!!) and by the looks of it, I know that many of you know what I’m talking about. There are very few things that feel worse than when your mind is going a million places at once and not knowing why or where it came from. It’s even more intense if you’re someone that typically feels calm and collected. You aren’t used to being shaken up all the time. Your fight or flight reaction doesn’t know what to do, you stay calm but your head feels crazed, probably more than you want to admit to. Admittedly or not, it happens to the best of us one time or another. So, if this sounds like you, or even if it doesn’t, here ya go:

Lessons Learned

Considering it’s the last day of the year I think now would be a good time to reflect on 2017. This year pushed me to my limits emotionally and mentally, I went through and overcame things I didn’t think I would ever have to. But this year was also the best year I’ve had so far. This year I started caring about myself and realized that I have a lot more control over my life than I thought I did. Whether 2017 was your year or not, I want to share some things I learned that I hope will help start your year off
