About Me

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Defining Yellow, my passion project if you will. However you ended up here, I’m glad you did and I hope you will stay. I guess I should explain a bit about myself before I expect you to read anything that I post. My name is Kourtney Benson, I am 23 years old and I have an undying love for coffee, music, drawing, reading, fitness and the smell of rosehip.

When I first started writing I knew I wanted to help people but I had no idea what I was doing or what this would turn into, I just thought a blog would be a nice place to start. I have transformed Defining Yellow into a blog with a goal of giving readers a taste of what goes on in my life and in my mind with hopes that I would attract those looking for inspiration, motivation, advice, or maybe just another perspective.

I want this to be a happy place for anyone to come to when they are looking for some positivity. I want you to feel important and at home when you’re here.

I hope that if anything I have said so far resonates with you, you’ll stick around to see what I have to offer, maybe Defining Yellow can help you with something as well. You can start reading my posts here!

Whether you’ve been following me or just came across my blog, thanks for reading ☀️☀️

  1. Hi Kourtney, I loved your “about me” and am looking forward to exploring your blog postings. We have a couple things in common….. the undying love for coffee and psychology. I am a registered nurse but my passion is caring for people with mental health issues. It takes a person with a true desire to help others, as you mentioned, to care for those who are often so stigmatized and sometimes unable to advocate for themselves. I wish you the best in all your endeavors, whatever path you choose. Take care!

  2. Wonderful ‘About me,’ especially about helping others. I myself said the same to someone, when they asked me what I wanted to do with my life, or for the rest of my life. I now get to do such, in-person, in-depth, all day long, and it is so fulfilling. Praise God!

  3. You have a purpose and a mission in life with real goals that are honourable and a blessing to others.. I think that is one of the most attractive things a person can be.

  4. Kourtney,

It is clear from your very interesting beginning here that whatever it is you decide to do with your educational emphasis, it is bound to be equally interesting. You have lots of time to figure it out, so keep your eyes and ears and mind open and you will no doubt find an interesting path, I’m sure.

Your visit to my blog gives me reason to suspect that you may find other postings of interest there, since I often speak of topics related to your own interests.

Hope to see you again, and let me know if there is any way that I might assist you in your educational goals.

    Warm regards….John H.

  5. Dear Kourtney,
Thanks for looking at my blog On Psyche and Spirit. If you read any more of it, you’ll see that I am a psychologist (who changed his major 3 times in college!) It has been a path that has allowed me to meet some real heroes! I encourage you to keep up with your creativity and self-exploration as this will help you help others. I’ll look forward to following your own journey
