Life is always unpredictable. You go to sleep one night hoping that tomorrow will be a bright day but the next morning brings to your worst day. You think that days can only get so bad but then life shows you that it can get worse. You wonder constantly what you did to deserve this, and you never get any answers. You can only take so much until you feel like this feeling is all you have. Life is unfair. You can’t find anyone else to put the blame on. You cant even blame yourself most of the time. Things just happen.
What we CAN do, is try to remember a few things.
Yes talking to people you’re close to is beneficial, holding your feelings in will eat you alive and the longer you hold it in the more painful it’ll become. Howeverrrrrr, if you’re like me and don’t like to talk about your problems to most people, hopefully this post will relieve some of your worries.
It’s so easy to feel like whatever you’re going through is all you have. Thankfully life doesn’t stop for anything or anyone, which means that whatever it is, is going to pass. It might seem like forever but there’s always going to be more to look forward to. Personally when something goes wrong in my life I always try to use it as motivation to push myself harder to who and where I want to be, being unsatisfied is the best motivation in my opinion. Another thing to remember is that not everyone is going to understand you, and that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you or with them, and that doesn’t mean that they don’t care. People won’t always be able to relate, so try not to take it the wrong way when that happens. Going off of that, never let the “people have it worse” saying make you feel like your problems aren’t valid. That is one of the things that upsets me the most because everyone struggles differently and just because one person might have it “worse” does not mean that your problems are any less real or painful.
Now here’s some things you can’t do when life seems to flip upside down:
You can’t beat yourself up for it, things are going to happen in or out of your control and beating yourself up for it is not going to change anything except make you feel worse. Sure, take a day or two to get yourself together and gather your thoughts if you need to, but please try to get yourself back up. You might not make it as far as you’d like to right away but TRYING is going to get you a hell of a lot further than not trying. You can’t feel like you’re alone, I promise you that no matter what it is you are not alone. Feeling alone has got to be one of the worst feelings because you feel stuck and helpless and nowhere to turn to. If you feel like this please reach out to someone you know or one of the numbers or websites I have listed below and I guarantee you will feel so much better knowing you aren’t the only one that feels this way. Lastly, you absolutely can not give up on yourself. This applies whether its your mental health, your goals, your family, your friends or even just getting through the day because I know that is no easy task sometimes.
This is the life we have been given and you’ve come this far. You either let it destroy you or you come out of it the strongest. The choice is yours, but why wouldn’t you want to see how much better life could be ?
